Teacher Pages

I decided to search Raa Middle School, a school that I volunteered at a couple of semesters ago. Under the teacher's tab, I found that a few of the teachers had websites. I clicked on "Mrs. Weaver's website", which led me to the Middle School Dance webpage. The website is open to the public and you don't need a student or parent login to access information. On the home page, Mrs. Weaver has information about the summer camps and uniforms that students need to purchase. There are a few tabs about the different dance classes that are available to students, information that parents need, and a "Meet the Instructor" page. The website doesn't have the best design, but it has useful information for parents, students, and prospective students as well.

Using Technology

In the future, I see myself using technology constantly to move forward professionally. I don't necessarily want to be a teacher, but I hope to do marketing, digital media, or administrative roles for a theater company. My entire career is based around technology. Right now, as a senior in college with two internships and an executive role in an organization on campus, I am constantly using a DSLR camera, editing programs, graphic design programs, social media, newsletter programs, Google Analytics, and much more. These technologies have helped me learn more about what I want to do and how I can advance my career after graduating from college.

Technology Sandbox

I just recently went to the Tech Sandbox and got to experience all of the technology available to us. I really enjoyed the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality because when I was using it, it really immersed me in whatever world was around me. I had never done VR before, so I would definitely do it again and try to implement it in my classroom. I think by showing my students different worlds and destinations, it would really improve their learning and experience.
