I've used Flipgrid to record my opinion on "The Flipped Classroom." Check it out on our group page!
Open Educational Resources
On the OER Commons website, it says, "Open Educational Resources (OER) offer opportunities for systemic change in teaching and learning content through engaging educators in new participatory processes and effective technologies for engaging with learning." Their goal is allow teachers to be more than just instructors and collaborate with one another, to improve the quality of learning for their students. On their website, they have thousands of resources available on all kinds of subjects, ranging from math to law. After choosing what subject you want a resource from, you can go even further searching. Each resource has a rating from other teachers and a brief overview of what the resource will include. I found this very helpful for anyone who is looking for great resources for their classroom! Here's a link to the website: https://www.oercommons.org/
PowerPoint
From the PowerPoint assignments, I have learned a little more than I already knew about the technology. I have extensively used PowerPoint in my earlier years of schooling, when I needed to make a presentation for a class. I experimented with different animation and transition effects, adding a bit of flare to the normal presentation. I have never been satisfied with the lack of creativity on PowerPoint, with them only provided a few templates to choose from. Because of this, everyone ends up seeing the few templates that are provided and it gets repetitive. Before these assignments, I didn't know about right-clicking on a shape and allowing it to be a button. I thought that was a fun way to transition between the slides rather than just hitting the space bar. I haven't completed Assignment 4, but I included a screenshot of Assignment 5:
